Gold Cubic Zirconia Tennis Bracelets

What Are Tennis Bracelets?
Perhaps the first thing that comes to mind when you hear the name ‘tennis bracelet’ is a piece of athletic gear that is worn while playing tennis. Actually, a tennis bracelet, quite surprisingly, is an elegant piece of jewelery that many women enjoy wearing. Tennis Bracelets, or in line bracelets as they are also known, are made from a precious medal (gold and silver being among a few options) and are then inlaid with a symmetrical pattern of stones. As for why it is called a tennis bracelet, that is because this piece of jewelery has an interesting story behind it that involves tennis.
The Story of the Tennis Bracelet
The reason this particular piece of jewellery came to be called a tennis bracelet is that Chris Evert was wearing one during the US open tennis match in 1987. As she played in the match, with thousands of viewers watching, her bracelet broke in pieces, scattering the diamonds that were in it onto the tennis court. The match then had to be paused while Chris went around searching for the diamonds of her broken bracelet. It goes without saying that this caused quite a stir for the thousands of people in the audience watching (and for those tuned into the match on TV as well), therefore earning Chris Evert’s bracelet the name ‘Tennis Bracelet’. This incident sparked quite an interest in this particular piece of jewellery and to this day, tennis bracelets are quite popular.
What are Tennis Bracelets Made From?
There are a variety of styles and materials that tennis bracelets can be made out of. The bracelet itself can be made out of gold, white gold, silver, or platinum and then inlaid with diamonds (as Chris Evert’s was), different colored jewels, diamonds and jewels together on the same bracelet, or Cubic Zirconia (known as CZ for short). Cubic Zirconia is a material that closely resembles diamonds, in fact, unless you really look closely, or are a jeweller, you will have a hard time telling the difference between diamonds and cubic zirconia. CZ tennis bracelets are therefore just as classy looking at the vastly more expensive diamond bracelets. The CZ stones in the bracelet shine out just as much as real diamonds would, making this an elegant option if you are looking for a piece of jewellery to wear to a formal event, although of course you do not have to limit wearing your tennis bracelet to formal events only.
Tennis Bracelet Costs
It goes without saying that if you get a tennis bracelet made out of more expensive jewels, it is going to cost you more. A gold tennis bracelet that has been inlaid with diamonds is currently between US$ 2,000 to US$ 5,000 – putting out of most people’s price range; gold tennis bracelets that have been inlaid with a selection of both diamonds and other precious stones are not much cheaper. However, a gold tennis bracelet that has been inlaid with cubic zirconia stones can be had for as little as US$ 30.00, although this also depends on where you buy the bracelet – at Macey’s a 14K gold tennis bracelet with CZ stones is US$800! Another point to keep in mind is that besides the material the tennis bracelet is made out of and what store is selling it, the design of the bracelet itself is also a factor in how much a tennis bracelet will cost.
Tennis bracelets are a very classy piece of jewelery that is sure to look nice on any woman. While some people prefer charm bracelets of some sort, many people feel that gold cz tennis bracelets are actually more fashionable and classier, and make a better fashion statement. (of course, this is only my opinion, women all over the world have their own opinions on what style of jewellery they feel is more fashionable.)
Anyway, whether you are looking for a good gift to give a woman (your mother, sister, significant other or even just a co worker in the office), a gold CZ tennis bracelet is both an affordable as well as stylish option you should consider. It makes a great gift for any woman. As for whether to get the gold one or whether to get silver or platinum, I would say that would depend on both your budget as well as what the woman you are giving it to would like. You may have already noticed what she likes by taking a look at the jewellery she is already wearing, if not, I would have to say that you can not really go wrong with the Gold CZ tennis bracelet. Gold is one of those all time classics as far as jewellery go.

Really informative article! Although I've had tennis bracelets in the past, I really never questioned their history until now. The whole Chris Evert incident is super interesting!
If anyone is looking for diamond tennis bracelets online, there's a great website that I came across earlier today that has a good selection to choose from: (http://anjolee.com/bracelets) I'm in the process of buying their 'Classic Princess Diamond Cut Tennis Bracelet' and was pleasantly surprised to see that it was 45% off. :)
